In Smoked Trout Fillets specializesIn 92, when three Danes, Henning Mortensen (sales), Viggo Steffensen (production) and Erwin Nielsen (finances) got together and established the trout smokehouse "HEVICO" in Vejle, they were not new to the trade, but experienced men who had the best reputation in the trout industry. The concept was just as simple as it was brilliant: "We smoke and sell trout and as a result do what we do best". Right from the start, this concept also included ensuring the supplies of trout throughout the whole year. For this purpose, a partnership was established with one of Denmark's largest trout farms, Bjarne Eg, so that right from the start HEVICO had access to 700 to 800 tonnes of trout. Bjarne Eg is a sleeping partner of HEVICO and also a member of the Board of Management of the company. Right from the first day, this specialisation created the best conditions for HEVICO so that it was able to successfully maintain its own in the thoroughly competitive trout market. The knowledge of the special conditions that a modern and efficient supplier should meet was created mainly gained through the first new plant, which was planned in detail from A-Z. However, this was superseded by the philosophy of these three men from Denmark, which continues to apply today:
This company philosophy and the targeted specialisation are the key to this rapid success. The maximum rationalisation makes the products competitive in spite of their top quality, even in comparison to goods coming from low wage countries. At the centre of production is the 125 g family pack sold under the company's own brand. Private labels dominate notebook asus the production. Concepts individually tailored to customer's requirements are worked out with customers and implemented. For the cash and carry and the catering sectors, 250 g and 500 g packs are supplied, and for restaurants and hotels, 1000 g packs are predominantly supplied. Concepts range up to premium products punked gaming, whereby it is absolutely guaranteed that there are no differences in the outgoing goods. Merely the preciseness of the weight, the packaging and the whole presentation are optimised accordingly. The newly introduced back fillet is a real premium product. It is the part of the trout, which is lower in fat, has an even longer shelf life and all the parts look the same. To date,accountant back fillets have mainly been supplied to Belgium and Switzerland. Smoked trout fillets are a seasonal business, so it is important that the company has the capacity for a high daily output. HEVICO supplies approximately 50% of its goods to the German market. The remaining production is distributed among the other European markets. A total of 22 million 125 g packs are exported per year.
